Street Smart Event, 9/7
In Highland Park, we care about traffic safety.  Next week a Street Smart pedestrian safety initiative program will launch with a press conference at the Susan Welkovits Pavilion on Raritan Ave on 9/7 at 3:30 p.m. To assess the effectiveness of the program, we are asking residents to complete a brief online survey both before and after the campaign period.

Arts in the Park, 9/11
Be sure to check out Main Street Highland Park’s annual Arts in the Park street festival in downtown Highland Park which run from 11:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Outdoor Movie Theater, 9/17
Join Main Street Highland Park at 9:00 p.m. at the Municipal Lot on Raritan Avenue between 2nd & 3rd Avenues for the last outdoor movie of the season: Raising Arizona (9/17).

Night Owl Market, 9/17
Join us for Main Street Highland Park’s Artisan, Crafter & Maker Markets, which run from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on select Saturdays in the municipal parking lot on Raritan Avenue.
 
Townwide Garage Sale, 9/17 & 9/18
Don’t miss Highland Park’s annual town-wide garage sale, where residents and downtown businesses sell their stuff and others come to scoop up all the great bargains!
 
Food Pantry Distribution, 9/8, 9/10, 9/22 & 9/24

Highland Park Recreation Programs
Highland Park Recreation offers a variety of adult and youth fall programs.  Families that qualify for free and reduced lunch are eligible for a 60% discount on all programs offered by the borough.
 
New collections at the Highland Park Public Library
Did you know you can borrow jigsaw puzzlesflower and vegetable seeds, and even an iPad from the library?
 
H.P. Gives a Hoot
Highland Park Gives a Hoot offers free groceries to Highland Park families in need of support.  Distributions are every Tuesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Zone 6 Teen Center, 600 Benner Street.
