**4TH UPDATE** at 11:30 AM:
Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a brush fire along the 5 FWY and Lake Hughes Road on Wednesday at approximately 12:00 PM. The fire quickly spread, causing mandatory evacuations for approximately 200 homes in the Gorman and Castaic area. Our Resident Gorman Deputies worked to evacuate the areas to the north, while approximately 20 field units from SCV, Palmdale Station, and LASD Parks Bureau were made available to assist with the additional evacuations that became necessary as far south as Lake Hughes Road.

**4TH UPDATE** at 2:30 PM:
- #RouteFire is burning at 5,208 acres with 12% containment.Old Ridge Route Road (between Templin Highway and Northlake Hills Elementary) has been reopened for RESIDENTIAL TRAFFIC ONLY. Have your ID ready to show officials.
- 5 FWY is open in both directions with significant traffic and delays due to lane closures in the NB and SB lanes. Please drive carefully and be alert for emergency crews still battling the fire.
- Continue to monitor www.lacounty.gov/emergency for updates and resources.

- Evacuation Orders remain in effect for Old Ridge Route Road just north of Northlake Hills Elementary School to Templin Highway.
- Deputies will remain in the area to provide escorts for fire personnel, assist with additional evacuations if necessary, protect residences, businesses, and property, provide posts at road closures, and assist the community as needed.
- No injuries to Sheriff's Department personnel or incidents of looting have been reported.
