Press Release

RE: A goal to provide complete, accurate, and timely information to the community
FR: The County of San Benito

As part of their goal to continue implementing the community-identified Strategic Plan priorities, the County of San Benito is working on a communications plan with the help of Public Information Officer Monica Leon - to be presented at the September 13 regularly scheduled Board meeting.

The county is responding to a wide variety of stakeholder input, specifically as it relates to community engagement and communication with a goal to: “exchange complete, accurate, and timely information with the entire community through open channels of communication.”

You may have noticed something different on their social media accounts: A new blue checkmark. This is significant, as they have taken the necessary steps to earn a verification badge to provide accurate and timely information. What is a verification badge? Well, this means Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have confirmed that San Benito County social profiles are authentic to represent the County of San Benito. There are a series of requirements for a government agency to be granted its verification badge.

To continue to get the latest information, the county is encouraging all community members to sign up for text notifications by texting your zip code to 888-777 and email notifications by visiting https://local.nixle.com/zipcode/95023/. You can also follow them on Facebook sbccalifornia, Instagram: sanbenitocounty, and Twitter: @SanBenitoCounty

As your local county government, they see their duty to continue planning to ensure the continued quality of life for residents. For questions, comments, concerns, or more information, please contact Public Information Officer Monica Leon at 831-801-0179, [email protected], or visit cosb.us.

San Benito County’s Mission is: To adopt policies that reflect the goals and priorities of the community and design a network of services that prioritizes public safety, equality, and economic vibrancy while balancing commitments to the region's rich history and prosperous future.
