Arrest made in Union City Attempted Homicide Investigation

UCPD Case #220827004
On Saturday, August 27th, 2022, at approximately 3:01 AM, Union City Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of Whipple Road and Medallion Drive for a just occurred shooting.
Upon arrival, officers determined that a shooting occurred in the parking lot in front of Quick Stop. Officers also learned that a 28-year-old male (Victim) was shot and transported to a local hospital before they arrived on scene. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
UCPD Detectives took over this investigation.
On September 2nd, 2022, Anthony Estrada (22-year-old male from Union City) was arrested for 664/187 PC- Attempted Homicide. A firearm was also located during the investigation.
This was an isolated incident and there are no additional known threats to the public. The Union City Police Department is glad to bring closure to the victim and the community in a timely manner.
