Flood Advisory until 09:30PM Friday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Crockett and Sutton.

* WHEN...Until 930 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Some low-water crossings may become impassable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 732 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen or will fall within the next hour. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... The Intersection Of Us-277 And Ranch Road 189, Us-277 Near The Sutton-Edwards County Line, I-10 Near The Crockett-Sutton County Line and The Intersection Of Highway 163 And Ranch Road 1973. - This includes the following highways... Interstate 10 between Mile Markers 380 and 389...and between Mile Markers 409 and 426. This includes the following Low Water Crossings... crossings along SH 163 and crossings along County Road 401. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
