An update to the incident on Woodside 
We can now confirm that yesterday's police situation in the 19000 block of Woodside ended with two fatalities. The victims are a 45 year old woman and 52 year old man. We currently have a 19 year old male in custody, the son of the deceased woman. We are not yet aware of motive and are awaiting autopsy results to confirm the cause of death.
The Harper Woods/Grosse Pointe SRT (Special Response Team) was activated due to the barricaded nature of the incident. After several minutes of negotiation, they were able to apprehend the suspect with no injuries to officers or suspect.
Charges against the 19 year old suspect are pending, and we anticipate an arraignment on those charges in the coming days.
Our thoughts are with the families of the victims at this time.
