On Friday, August 26, at 09:06 PM, Corcoran Police Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Dairy Avenue regarding a fight. Upon arrival it was learned that 4 male subjects had confronted and cornered the victim while inside a store. The suspects surrounded the victim preventing him from being able to leave and a fight ensued. Corcoran Police Department Officers and Detectives began investigating the incident. The suspects were identified as Darriues Williams-Loftis, Kayvonzmar Roberts, and Tyler Jones. There was a fourth suspect involved, Detectives are still working towards arresting the fourth suspect. During the incident Darriues drops a firearm from his person. He picks it back up and all the subjects leave the store. Later that evening, the same victim was shot while in the 1400 block of North Avenue. During that investigation it was found that Darriues was the subject who shot the victim. Corcoran Police Department Detectives issued a warrant for Darriues for him being a felon in possession of a firearm and for assault with a deadly weapon. Warrants were issued for the other three subjects for false imprisonment. The Kings County Major Crimes Task Force assisted in the location and arrest of Darriues and Kayvonzmar. The Corcoran Police Department also arrested Tyler. All subjects have been transported and booked at the Kings County Jail. Darriues is being held without bail for his two warrants and a probation violation. Kayvonzmar is being held without bail for his warrant and a probation violation. Tyler is being held on $50,000 bail for his warrant.
