On Sunday September 04, 2022 Demond Thomas Burgen Jr., a 19 year old Harper Woods resident, was formally charged by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office with:
(2) COUNTS: HOMICIDE-FIRST DEGREE-PREMEDITATED
(2) COUNTS: WEAPONS-FELONY FIREARM
Burgen Jr. was arraigned on the charges and given a $1,000,000.00 cash bond. Burgen Jr. has a Preliminary Examination date scheduled for September 21, 2022 at 1:30 p.m.in the 32-A District Court.
The charges stem from a September 02, 2022 incident that occurred inside a residence in the 19000 block of Woodside. It is alleged that Burgen Jr. shot and killed his mother and his mother's boyfriend.
