Watch Commander’s Day Report - September 4, 2022
1. Resisting Arrest (0633) El Dorado Street and Oak Street, Civic District
Officers were patrolling in the area when they saw the suspect armed with a hammer and in an argument with another person. Officers contacted the suspect, who was uncooperative and refused their commands. The suspect was physically restrained. ARRESTED: Jerry Marshall, 48, for resisting arrest.
2. Resisting Arrest (0806) 1500 Block of East Fremont Street, Park District
Officers responded to a business in the area on the report of a suspect trespassing on the property. Officers contacted the suspect, who resisted and had to be restrained. ARRESTED: Steve Meraz, 33, for trespassing and resisting arrest.
3. Injury Vehicle Collision (1006) Pershing Avenue and Venetian Drive, Lakeview District
Officers responded to a vehicle collision involving two vehicles in the listed area. A driver of one of the vehicles was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Several other parties were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Traffic investigators responded to the scene to continue the investigation.
4. Robbery Arrest (1147) March Lane and Pacific Avenue, Lakeview District
Officers were patrolling the area when they saw a suspect who matched the description of a robbery suspect from the day prior. Refer to entry #1 on the night watch daily from September 3, 2022. Officers attempted to detain the suspect, but he fled on foot with a gun in his hand. The suspect gave up and was taken into custody after a foot pursuit, and the gun he had was found to be a BB gun. The suspect was identified in the previous robbery. ARRESTED: Juan Ramos, 21, for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of stolen property, and violating conditions of parole.
