National Weather Service Issues Flood Watch for Bergen County from Monday (9/5/22) at 5:00 p.m. until Tuesday (9/6/22) at 5:00 p.m. 
Fair Lawn Emergency Management is monitoring a rain event that will start later this afternoon (Monday, September 5, 2022) and continue through Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Average rainfall totals are expected to be 2 to 3 inches for the entire event. The heaviest rain will begin overnight Monday and continue throughout the day on Tuesday. The heaviest rain bands can cause flash flooding. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, small creeks, streams, and other low lying and flood prone locations. Urban flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas is likely.
