INCIDENT: Fatal Boating Collision
LOCATION: Colorado River near Sundance RV Resort, Parker Strip
SUSPECT(S): N/A
VICTIM(S): Marilyn Plomann, 69-years-old, Resident of Ridgecrest, CA
SUMMARY: On Sunday, September 4, 2022, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Colorado River Station's Marine Enforcement Unit responded to the report of a boating collision on the Parker Strip in the area of the Sundance RV Resort.
Through investigation and witness statements, it was determined a personal watercraft collided with a watercraft traveling south along the river. The female operator of the personal watercraft was found unresponsive in the water. Numerous bystanders immediately retrieved the victim from the water, brought her to shore and began life saving measures.
Buckskin Fire Department paramedics arrived on scene and treated the victim on shore. Despite life saving measures, the victim was pronounced deceased at approximately 1:20 p.m. The victim was turned over to the care of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Coroner Division.
