RAIN EVENT
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2022
 
The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for Bergen County from today Monday 9/5 at 5PM until Tuesday 9/6 at 5PM.
 
A rain event is expected to start later this afternoon or early evening and continue through Wednesday.  Average rainfall totals are expected to be 2 to 3 inches for the entire event. The heaviest rain will begin overnight Monday and continue throughout the day on Tuesday.
 
The heaviest rain bands can cause flash flooding. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, small creeks, streams, and other low lying and flood prone locations. Urban flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas is likely.
