Multiple firearms seized from juveniles in the month of August
SUBJECT: Multiple firearms seized from juveniles in the month of August
LOCATION: Multiple locations in Redwood City
DATE: September 1st 2022
For the month of August, the Redwood City Police Department has seized three firearms from juveniles in three separate incidents. At this time there doesn’t appear to be any connection between any of the juveniles involved in the three separate cases. All told, six juveniles and three adults have either been arrested or had cases submitted against them for charges stemming from illegal firearms possession.
This was a busy month for this department. Six firearms were seized for either being illegal to possess or for being used in a crime. This includes the firearms seized from juveniles. Most of the firearms seized were either stolen or unregistered, “Ghost Guns” (a gun that lacks a serial number and is typically assembled by the user).
The Redwood City Police Department wants to make this city as safe as possible for residents, business owners and visitors.
Please keep all firearms secured in a safe inside your residence. This helps prevent them falling into the hands of unauthorized users. Never leave firearms in vehicles.
If you see something, say something. Instruct your kids and to let a responsible adult know if they see an unsecured firearm.
If you have any information about illegally possessed firearms or firearms used in crimes, please don’t hesitate to contact us. For tips regarding any Redwood City cases please call the Tip Line at 650-780-7110.
