DETAILS: On 6/29/22 at 10:30 am, the resident of a single-family home, returned after being away for the evening to find that she was the victim of a burglary. Ptl. C. Van Ness conducted the initial investigation, and Det. Barber processed the scene and followed up the investigation. Investigation found that entry was made into the home through a window. Almost $20,000.00 in jewelry and other property was stolen from inside the house. Evidence was found at the crime scene by Det. Barber ultimately linking Bobby David N. Jackson to the incident. Further investigation revealed that Jackson was arrested in Georgia after being found in possession of vehicle that was stolen from Princeton University. On August 12th, Jackson was charged with this Burglary and Theft. He remained in custody in Georgia on charges unrelated to this burglary.

He arrived to find the driver, Brian Britton asleep behind the wheel of a blue Ford pickup truck. The vehicle was off and had no lights on. After his awakening, Britton was determined to be DWI. Britton was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released with a future date with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Patrol Units were detailed to the bus stop on Nassau Park Blvd. for a male that was reportedly intoxicated and/or in need of assistance. Ptl. Connell located Charles Spence Jr. struggling to maintain his balance near the bus stop. Spence was subsequently found to have a warrant for his arrest from Trenton, and to be in possession of eighteen decks of heroin. Spence was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future dates with Mercer County Superior Court and Trenton Municipal Court.

Investigation found that both Ciani Watson-Clark and Shaunna Hvasta filled two shopping carts full of merchandise, then pushed the carts through the self-checkout without paying for any of the items. The value of the merchandise in both carts totaled $1,150.17. Watson-Clark also had a warrant for her arrest out of Robbinsville. Watson-Clark and Hvasta were processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending future dates with Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS: Patrol Units responded to a shoplifting at Target. Officers arrived while the suspect was still in the store. Investigation found that Christopher Randall had concealed a cart full of merchandise into shopping bags. Randall then went to checkout, purchased two small items, but failed to pay for the remaining $353.81 worth of merchandise that was in his cart. As he attempted to leave the store, Ptl. A. Mangone took him into custody and found that he was in possession of drug paraphernalia. Randall was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS: Ptl. Buchanan was detailed to Cordero’s Auto Repair for the theft of a U-Haul van valued at $42,000.00. Det. Barber also responded to assist with the investigation. It was found that Tavares Young (who was later determined to have used a stolen driver’s license to identify himself as someone else) and Christina Strowbridge attempted to rent a U-Haul van, but the credit cards they used were all declined. While the customer service representative was distracted, the keys to the van were taken, and the van was driven away. On August 28th, the van was stopped by the Coral Springs Police Department in Florida. Young was one of the occupants inside the van, and although he attempted to identify himself as the person on the stolen driver’s license, fingerprints revealed who he really was. He was charged with the possession of a stolen vehicle in Florida. Both Young and Strowbridge were charged with the theft of the van and have dates pending with Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS: Patrol Units responded to the HomeSense store for a shoplifting in progress. Officers arrived as a silver Chrysler minivan the suspects were using was driving away. Ptl. A. Mangone initiated a stop on the vehicle on U.S. Route 1. During the stop, it was determined that Shaniqua Green and Chelsea Autridge had shoplifted $379.97 worth of merchandise from the store. They were also in possession of narcotics and a shoplifting device/security tag remover. In addition, Green was found to be a “Wanted Person” out of Trenton. Green and Autridge were processed at WWPD Headquarters and transported to the Mercer County Corrections Center.

During the stop, Damier Johnson was found to be a “Wanted Person” out of Pennsylvania. He was processed at WWPD Headquarters and transported to the Mercer County Corrections Center to await extradition to PA.
