ARREST MADE IN CASE OF MISSING ESCONDIDO MAN
On 8/13/22, 71 year-old Stanley Stephens was reported missing from his North Broadway home in Escondido. Stephens was an avid walker who was known to walk in the area around his home every day. The Escondido Police Department, with the assistance of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue Team, conducted an extensive search for Stephens in the North Broadway area with no success. Believing that Stephens may be the victim of foul play, Escondido Police Detectives began an investigation into his disappearance. That investigation has now led to the arrest of 32 year-old Escondido resident Eduardo Zamora for PC 187(a), Murder. Zamora was known to drive a silver, 2015 Honda Civic, bearing California license plate 7MYW007.
Stephens is still missing and is believed to be deceased. The investigation is ongoing and the Escondido Police Department is looking for any information on Stanley Stephens and/or Eduardo Zamora that may help in the investigation. If you have information, please contact Detective Chris Zack at (760) 839-4972.
