ESPD is currently investigating a suspicious incident involving an unknown male and a Middle School student. On September 6, 2022, at around 3:00 p.m., a female El Segundo Middle School student was walking home from school on Grand Avenue and Penn Street when she was approached by a male driving a 1990’s, light brown or gold pickup truck, single cab. The truck is described as a Ford or Chevy Silverado with construction equipment in the bed of the truck. The male made an inappropriate comment and asked if she wanted a ride home.  The female juvenile told him no and the male drove away. The male is described as possibly Caucasian, between 45-60 years old and bald.

School administrators have been advised and will be informing parents.

The El Segundo Police Department detectives are investigating this incident and are attempting to identify the driver and vehicle.  If anyone has information on the identity of the male or has seen this vehicle in the city, please call 911 or the non-emergency number at (310) 524-2760.
