In February and June of this year, homes on Via Capote and a home on Churchill Drive were forcibly entered and property was stolen.  As of 9/7/22, two suspects have been arrested in connection with the burglaries.

The Thousand Oaks Police Investigative Unit/ Career Criminals Unit led a diligent investigation.  They utilized law enforcement investigative techniques which included viewing video surveillance, searching police databases, writing data-based search warrants, and collaborating with other police agencies to identify two suspects.  The suspects were identified as Tyrone Green from Los Angeles and Lewis McCants from Palmdale.  Both suspects have criminal histories that include robbery and both have associations to gangs in Los Angeles.  Green has active parole terms for a robbery charge out of LA County.

On 8/23/22, Thousand Oaks detectives located Green in Los Angeles and arrested him for conspiracy and burglary.  Los Angeles County Parole Officers placed a parole hold on Green for the violation.  Green was booked at the Ventura County Mail Jail for the listed charges and the parole hold with a $70,000 bail.  On 8/29/22, Green posted bail and has a court date of 10/21/22.

On 9/7/22, detectives served a residential search warrant at McCants’ home in Palmdale.  McCants was arrested for three burglary charges and conspiracy.  Detectives located stolen property and recovered two loaded firearms, a loaded gun magazine and an expandable police baton.  McCants was booked at the Ventura County Main Jail with a $100,000 bail.  His arraignment is set for 9/8/22.
