INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: State Highway 18 & Stoddard Wells Road, Victorville
VICTIM(S): 34-year-old Male
SUMMARY: On Thursday, September 08, 2022, at 2:27a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department, along with rescue personnel from Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian crash in the area of Stoddard Wells Road and State Highway 18. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The occupants of the vehicle were not injured.
Deputies with the Victorville Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T) responded and assumed the investigation. It was determined the pedestrian was walking in the number one, westbound lane of State Highway 18 when he was struck by a Nissan Altima. The driver and a witness remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. The name of the pedestrian is being witheld, pending next of kin notification.
