Lamorinda Virtual Evacuation Drill - Tomorrow beginning at 8:00am

Reminder—

Tomorrow morning (Saturday) beginning at 8:00 AM, the Lamorinda Police and Fire Agencies will be conducting a virtual evacuation exercise. If you are registered, Lamorinda residents should expect to receive a message from the Contra Costa County Community Warning System sometime after 8:00 AM. This is a virtual exercise so residents need not take any action after receiving the message. We will send out a short survey via social media once the exercise has concluded around 10:00 AM.

This is a good time to discuss your family's emergency plan and ensure that you are prepared if called to evacuate.  This preparation also helps if we are faced with a Public Safety Power Shutdown in response to high fire danger.  Are you prepared?  Do you have a communications plan if family members are separated?  Do you have a "Go-Bag" ready or know what you need to take in the event of an evacuation...and can you collect it quickly as you may only have moments to get out?

For more information, check the Lamorinda CERT website at www.lamorindacert.org or review the Lamorinda Resident's Guide to Wildfire Preparedness and Evacuation that was mailed to every household.  Copies are available at the Moraga Police Department and at the Moraga Orinda Fire District offices.

Thank you for helping us to keep Moraga a safe community.
