On Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 10:16 PM Corcoran Police Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 700 block of Letts Avenue for an observed violation. The driver of the vehicle failed to yield and proceeded to flee in the vehicle. While fleeing officers, the driver was observed committing numerous vehicle code violations, including failing to stop at posted stop signs and reckless driving. The vehicle became disabled in the 2300 block of North Avenue and the driver, Jose Guadalupe Rodriguez, was taken into custody without further incident. During his arrest Officers found Rodriguez to be in possession of multiple live rounds of ammunition. Rodriguez is prohibited from owning or possessing ammunition, due to being a previously convicted felon. Rodriguez was booked into the Kings County Jail for evading a Police Officer, felon in possession of ammunition, reckless driving and driving without a license. His bail was set at $70,000.
