Suspect Arrested for Stabbing a Victim in Rancho Cucamonga

DATE/TIME: September 12, 2022/ 5:08 P.M.

INCIDENT: Stabbing

LOCATION: Ralph Lewis Park, 7898 Elm Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT(S): Matthew Bednarczyk, Age 21, Resident of Upland

VICTIM(S): Confidential 


SUMMARY: 
On Monday, September 12, 2022, at approximately 5:08 P.M., deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call of a man who was stabbed at Ralph Lewis Park. Witnesses reported the suspect fled the scene prior to deputies arrival. The victim was located near the park with multiple stab wounds and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

After further investigation, deputies identified the suspect as Matthew Bednarczyk, and an arrest warrant was issued. 

On Tuesday, September 13, 2022, deputies located Bednarczyk and arrested him.  Deputies booked Bednarczyk into the West Valley Detention Center for PC 664/187- Attempted Murder and PC 2800.2- Reckless Evading.
