Shooting occurred on the Copeland Creek Trail

On Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at approximately 11:00pm, Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety received a call of a possible fight on the Copeland Creek Trail, in the area of the Santa Alicia foot bridge. The caller stated they believed they heard a gunshot, and then someone yell.
Officers arrived and began searching the area for any involved persons. While searching the area, Officers located one victim (unknown age) with an injury consistent with being shot. The victim was rushed to an area hospital by ambulance for immediate medical treatment.
Rohnert Park Detectives were called to the scene and have been investigating throughout the night. At this time, the investigation is still ongoing. The identities of the victim and possible suspect(s) have yet to be established, and the nature of the victim’s injuries will not be disclosed at this time.
Due to the active investigation, members of the public are asked to avoid the area of the Copeland Creek Trail between Seed Farm Drive and Commerce Boulevard.
