On September 14, 2022 at 8:10 p.m., Sunnyvale DPS Patrol and Fire personnel responded to the area of El Camino Real and Sunnyvale Avenue on the report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a single vehicle. The pedestrian was located at the scene with serious injuries. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the involved vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The collision remains under investigation by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact MAIT Investigator Jessi Montgomery at (408)730-7109.
