KIA & HYUNDAI AUTO THEFT TREND
The current TikTok auto theft challenge encourages people to steal 2010-2021 Kia and Hyundai vehicles of various models, causing an increase in auto thefts. These vehicles are not equipped with an ignition immobilizer, but uses a mechanical key—not a key fob, and push-button to start the vehicle. The ignition is typically compromised by utilizing a USB cord, most of which can already be found inside the vehicle in plain view.
