During the morning of Friday, September 16^th, 2022, the City of McHenry’s Public Works Department repaired an unexpected water main break at 4305 Elm Street (IL Route 120). From 4305 Elm Street to 4509 Elm Street, commercial businesses were without water service. As a result, a boil order was issued for the affected properties. When a boil order is issued, it is recommended as a precautionary measure to boil all tap water (for a period of 3 to 5 minutes) intended for human consumption. The City is currently awaiting sampling results and will notify the affected businesses when the boil order has been lifted.
