Upcoming – The week ahead with traffic enforcement and road projects

Enhanced Traffic Enforcement Areas

South Brunswick Police continually evaluate traffic data and citizen feedback for areas of the township to receive enhanced enforcement efforts. This week we will be conducting traffic enforcement details in the following areas:

  1. The Grande (off New Road)   Speeding and stop sign violations
  2. Route 522 / Route 1   -       Red light violations, speeding
  3. Route 1      -                      Passing stopped school buses
 
Road Projects
South Brunswick Police will notify community members of anticipated road projects that may impact their travel.
  • New Road between Hodge Road and Route 27 - Tree removal. The project starts on Monday and will run all week from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Traffic will be able to travel both east and west on New Road during the project.      
                               
  • Route 522 between New Road and Stouts Lane -The Middlesex County Department of Highways will be milling and resurfacing Route 522. The project starts with milling scheduled to take place between 9/21 and 9/28, paving is scheduled from 9/29 to 10/6, and striping is scheduled to be completed on 10/7. The dates for this project are dependent on weather and equipment and are subject to change.
