Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Hit and Run Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragérequests the public’s help with identifying a suspect in connection with a hit and run accident on August 6, 2022 
 
The accident occurred at approximately 8:57 p.m. at South Orange and Sanford avenues when the vehicle, possibly a grey Chevy Malibu, struck a pedestrian at that intersection. The vehicle, pictured below, has rear bumper damage and a broken front windshield. It fled southbound on Sanford Avenue and westbound on Fortuna Street. The victim was treated at University Hospital  
 
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the accident to call the Police Division’s  24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-
