Press Release: Stolen Vehicle, possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernal
Details: On September 18, 2022, at approximately 4:37 AM, Corcoran Police Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of Dairy Avenue for a vehicle who failed to stop at a stop sign. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Efrain Briones from Lost Hills Ca. While officers were speaking with Briones, dispatch informed them the truck was reported stolen from Kern County. Officers were informed the truck was reported as stolen on September 13, 2022. Briones and the other two occupants were detained. During the search of Briones, a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine was located in his pocket. It was also determined Briones was driving while his license was suspended. One of the occupants was identified as Aurelio Garcia and it was determined he had 2 active warrants in Kings County with a total bail amount of $280,000. Briones was arrested and transported to the Corcoran City Jail. He was later booked and released on a citation to appear in the Kings County Superior Court. Garcia was arrested and released on a citation to appear in the Kings County Superior Court for his warrants.
