Traffic Collision on Main Street and Maple Avenue Sends Motorcycle Rider to the Hospital

SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at about 8:58 a.m., deputies from the Hesperia Station, and medical personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a vehicle vs. motorcycle traffic collision near the intersection of Main Street and Maple Avenue in Hesperia.
Upon arrival, deputies found a male victim, who was driving the motorcycle, in the roadway suffering from major injuries. It was determined the victim had been traveling west on Main Street on a 2011 Yamaha when the driver of a 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer, traveling east on Main Street, attempted to make a left turn into a business parking lot. The driver of the Mitsubishi turned directly into the path of the motorcycle, causing the collision.
The victim suffered major injuries and was flown to the hospital for advanced treatment. The female driver of the Mitsubishi was not injured and cooperated with the investigation at the scene.
Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision and the incident remains under investigation.
