Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Theft from Auto Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the below-pictured suspect, who entered a vehicle and removed the victim’s personal belongings on September 11, 2022. 
 
Police responded to a call about a theft from an automobile that occurred at approximately 4:48 a.m. in the 200 block of West End Avenue. The female suspect was captured on surveillance video entering the vehicle and taking the victim’s purse and wallet, which contained credit and debit cards and $200.  
 
The suspect, described as a dark-skinned woman, was wearing a short blonde wig, black pants, a black and white long-sleeved shirt, a brown hat, and white crocs. She was holding a yellow shopping bag and fled northbound on West End Avenue. 
 
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the accident to call the Police Division’s  24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-
