Homicide Detectives Arrest a Suspect for his Alleged Involvement in a Recent Homicide

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives identified and arrested a suspect for his alleged involvement in the August murder of 23-year-old Aaron Flora.

On Monday, August 29, 2022, just after 1:00 a.m., IMPD Southeast District officers were dispatched to 2927 Brill Rd., on a report of a person stabbed. Officers arrived and located an adult male who sustained injuries consistent with a stab wound(s). Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived and unfortunately pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

IMPD homicide detectives responded to the scene and began their investigation. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to identify and collect potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) assisted and determined the exact cause and manner of death.

Homicide detectives continued their investigation and were able to identify the alleged suspect. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office charged the alleged suspect 26-year-old Christopher Rawlings with murder. On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, with the assistance of the Greenwood Police Department Rawlings was arrested and booked into the Johnson County Jail. The Marion County Prosecutors Office (MCPO) will review the case and determine a final charging decision.
