Full Notification

The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety is currently investigating two incidents of an unknown person who was seen on a doorbell camera. The unknown person was wearing a white, full-faced mask with a full beard and dressed in dark clothing. The two incidents occurred on September 19^th, within eight minutes of each other.
 
The first incident occurred at the Emerald Pointe Apartments on Camino Colegio at 3:01 a.m. The masked individual walked up to the front door of residence, stood there for a brief moment, and then walked away. The second incident occurred in the 1300 block of Miramonte Place at 3:09 a.m.  The masked individual walked up to the front door of residence, stood there for a brief moment while grasping the doorbell camera, and then walked away. In both incidents, the individual never attempted to enter the front doors, did not remove anything from the porch or yard, and did not appear to be holding any tools or weapons. Though this person’s actions are concerning, they are not criminal.
 
Rohnert Park Detectives investigating these two incidents are also investigating an incident that occurred on September 4^th at approximately 1:15 a.m. In this incident, an unknown male entered a home in the 1300 block of Middlebrook Way. When one of the residents woke up and saw the unknown male, he said, “Sorry” and walked out of the home. The resident described the male as light skinned, Hispanic, approximately 5’6” or 5’7”, wearing all black, including a black beanie-style cap, and an N95-type surgical mask. Officers arrived on scene within minutes of the 9-1-1 call, but they were not able to locate the suspect. This incident is being investigated as a crime.
 
Based on the investigations, the suspect in the September 4^th incident is not believed to be the same person seen on the two doorbell cameras.
