Last night, the Sheriff’s Office spearheaded a task force operation that resulted in the arrest of two men.
Human trafficking and child exploitation is on the rise both nationally and within our State. A task force of police agencies in this area have teamed up to address the matter locally. The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office has assisted neighboring agencies at several of these operations netting many arrests. Last evening, an operation by the task force was held in Montcalm County.
Two men were arrested overnight when they came to the County intending to engage in sexual activities with underage females. At the time of apprehension, admissions to their intentions were obtained and they were lodged.
Troy Issac Kinchen, age twenty-eight from Saginaw, was arrested and arraigned on charges of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime and Accosting a Minor for Immoral Purposes. Kinchen remains in jail on a $75,000.00 bond.
Evan Joseph Goble, age thirty-three from Sunfield, was arrested and arraigned on charges of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime, Accosting a Minor for Immoral Purposes, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Felony Firearm. Goble remains in jail on a $75,000.00 bond.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office, Central Michigan Enforcement Team, members of the Michigan State Police assigned to Michigan Intelligence Operations Center, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, and Ferris State University Police Department.
