Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports his office investigated a three-vehicle injury crash at the intersection of Marcellus Hwy and Decatur Rd, Volinia Township, Cass County, Michigan. This crash occurred on 09/23/2022 at approximately 4:20 pm. 

Initial investigation showed a work van driven by John Lester Myers, 55 year old, Mendon, Michigan resident,   was traveling west on Marcellus Hwy. A Suburban driven by Collin Patrick Jones, 18 year old, Decatur, Michigan resident,  failed to yield when turning south on Decatur Rd, from Marcellus Hwy and collided into the work van. An Altima, driven by Paul Alan Rasmussen Dunlop, 27 year old, South Bend Indiana resident was stopped at the stop sign on Decatur Rd. The work van was pushed into the Altima during the crash.  

The passenger in Suburban, Tayla Ann Marie Lane, 16 year old, Dowagiac resident, was evaluated on scene and transported by Pride Care ambulance to Lakeland Niles Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  

Deputies were assisted on scene by Pride Care Ambulance, Marcellus Ambulance, Wayne Township Fire Department, and Dowagiac Fire Department.
