Drexel Man Charged with Gun Crime 
Deputy Robert Watson with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 47-year-old Bobby Ray Workman with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. A Magistrate issued Workman a $100,000 secured bond.
On September 14th, Deputy Watson stopped Workman’s vehicle on NC 221N for multiple traffic violations. Workman was arrested for outstanding warrants out of Burke County. A search of his vehicle turned up a 9mm handgun. Workman is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm.
