Deputies Join in on the 4th Annual Steamboat Cove Underwater Cleanup Day

INCIDENT: 4th Annual Steamboat Cove Underwater Cleanup
LOCATION: Steamboat Cove on Lake Havasu
SUMMARY: On Sunday, September 25, 2022, deputies from the Colorado River Station Dive Rescue team joined members of Mohave County Sheriff's Department and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) divers in the 4th annual Steamboat Cove Underwater Cleanup. This event was hosted by the Lake Havasu Divers Association, Lake Havasu City Sea Scouts, and Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Twenty seven divers and twenty-nine land volunteers spent approximately twenty-seven hours underwater at the Steamboat Cove Cleanup. Underwater finds included anchors, sunglasses, old liquid bottles, aluminum cans, and other various articles of trash.
The Colorado River Station Dive Rescue team would like to thank the Lake Havasu Divers Association, Lake Havasu Sea Scouts, and Bureau of Land Management (BLM), for allowing our members to be a part of their annual cleanup.
