Newark Police Division Lieutenant John Patela (2nd from right) was honored by the Newark Field Division of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) for reaching the 5,000th firearm ballistics match through the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN). Lieutenant Patela is flanked, left to right by ATF Special Agent in Charge of the Newark Field Division, Jeffrey L. Matthews, Ballistics Investigator Antonio Badim, and ATF Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Bryan R. Miller.
