NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s investigators are continuing their investigation into the hit and run, vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision which occurred on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at approximately 1:30 p.m., at Azusa Avenue and Gemini Street, in the city of Industry.
Preliminary information indicates the male adult traveled south on Azusa Avenue and the pedestrians were crossing east from the west curb line on Gemini Street. The adult driver of the vehicle failed to stop for a red light, crossing the intersection colliding with the female adult and female child who were in the crosswalk.
The pedestrians sustained minor injuries and were transported to area hospital and later released. The driver of the vehicle left the scene without providing aid to the victims or contacting law enforcement. He was last seen driving north on Azusa Avenue and out of view.
The suspect’s vehicle was located today, Thursday, September 29, 2022, at approximately 2:30 p.m. and impounded for evidence. A male adult was taken into custody and booked at Industry Sheriff’s Station.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
