Flood Advisory until 09:15PM Friday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Edgecombe, Franklin, Halifax, Nash, Vance, Warren and Wilson.

* WHEN...Until 915 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 319 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. A combination of the heavy rain and strong wind will also increase the risk of uprooted trees. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Rocky Mount, Roanoke Rapids, Tarboro, Nashville, Louisburg, Warrenton, Halifax, Wilson, Scotland Neck, Franklinton, Elm City, Norlina, Dortches, Littleton, Bailey, Bunn, Red Oak, Enfield, Princeville and Sharpsburg. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
