On Thursday, September 29, 2022, during a special enforcement detail intended to target violent crime, Corcoran Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1300 block of Whitley Avenue. The driver, Devin Mattos, was found to be driving on a suspended drivers license. Mattos was subsequently searched and a loaded 9-millimeter handgun, with no serial numbers, was found in his pocket. The firearm was loaded with three live rounds. Further investigation revealed Mattos is a previously convicted Felon. Mattos was arrested and transported to the Corcoran Police Department, where he was booked for the charges of possession of a concealed firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm and driving on a suspended license. Mattos was later transported and booked into the Kings County Jail. His bail is set at $45,000.00.
