On Saturday, October 1st, 2022, at 6:17 am., California City Police Officers responded to a two vehicle, head on traffic collision on California City Blvd and Yerba Blvd. Upon arrival, officers located a total of three patients. The drivers of the involved vehicles (2017 Chevrolet and 2021 Toyota) were pronounced deceased at the scene. The third party was transported to a local hospital via ambulance. Traffic on California City Blvd was affected and re-routed while officers conducted their investigation. At this time, speed and alcohol are considered to be factors in this collision. The names of the deceased will be released by the Kern County Coroner's office, pending notification of the next of kin.
