Apple Valley Man Arrested for Attempted Murder After Firing a Ghost Gun During a Fight

INCIDENT: Attempted Murder, Negligent Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of an Un-Serialized Firearm
LOCATION: Cosmos Taverna, 12409 Mariposa Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Johnnie Rodriguez, a 30-Year-Old Male Resident of Apple Valley
VICTIM(S): Confidential Adult, and The State of California
SUMMARY: On Sunday, October 2, 2022, at approximately 1:59 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department were dispatched to a fight with gunshots fired, in the parking lot of Cosmos Taverna in Victorville. The suspect fled the scene in a blue Chevrolet Camaro.
Deputies responded and located the suspect’s vehicle nearby. The driver, Johnnie Rodriguez, was identified as the suspect who fired the gun. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and located an un-serialized Polymer 80 handgun (Ghost Gun). Deputies arrested Rodriguez for attempted murder, negligent discharge of a firearm, and possession of an un-serialized firearm.
While conducting their investigation at Cosmos, deputies made two unrelated arrests for disorderly conduct; public intoxication.
