INCIDENT: HS 11370.1(A) - Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed, PC 30305(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of Ammunition and PC 29800(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of a Firearm
LOCATION: 1500 block of Front Street, Needles
SUSPECT(S): James Hicks, 46-Years Old, Resident of Needles
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, October 3, 2022, at approximately 7:50 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department served a search warrant at a residence in the 1500 block of Front Street.
During the service of the warrant, James Hicks and several others were detained. During a search of the residence, deputies located 3 rifles, several boxes of ammunition and suspected methamphetamine. Through investigation, James Hicks was found to be a convicted felon and prohibited from being in possession of guns and ammunition.
James Hicks was consequently arrested for H&S 11370.1 - Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed, PC 30305(A)(1) - Felon in Possession of Ammunition and PC 29800(A)(1), Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Hicks was transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking and remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
