Mohawk Hudson River Marathon (10/9/2022) - Parking and Traffic Restrictions
The annual Mohawk-Hudson River Marathon/Half Marathon will occur this Sunday, October 9th, 2022. The race(s) will enter the city on its 26.2 and 13.1 mile route from Maplewood on Rt 32 and continue south, crossing several intersections throughout the city. Road closures will occur along the race route beginning at 08:00 am. The race is expected to conclude at approximately 1:00 pm.
As a result of this road race, there are parking restrictions on 24th Street between 2nd Ave and Broadway, 2nd Ave from 25th Street to 24th Street, and 21st Street from Whitehall Street to Broadway. The specific areas that have parking restrictions will be posted. Please look for the "No Parking" signs if you live in these areas. Vehicles will be towed if they are obstructing race operations.
Additionally, if you are traveling through the below listed intersections, please allow yourself extra time. You can expect to be detoured around these intersections during the race. Police Officers will be posted to assist, however, extended delays in these areas are possible.
- 2nd Ave. (Rt. 32) @ 25th St.
- Broadway @ 25th St.
- Broadway @ 24th St.
- Broadway @ 23rd St.
- Broadway @ 21st St.
- Broadway @ 16th St.
- 23rd St @ 2nd Ave
- 23rd St @ both the 787 North and South on/off ramps (exit 8): all traffic exiting the ramps will be diverted into Green Island during the race). All traffic wanting to get on 787 may be routed through Tibbits Ave (Green Island).
