9:48 PM: Officers made contact and arrested a 38-year old male out of Fremont in the area of Fuschia Ct and Mistflower Ave for being too inebriated to care for himself or others. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

2:59 AM: Officer Garica responded to investigate a subject holding a blow torch in the area of 5000 block of Thornton Ave. Officer Garcia made contact and accepted a citizen’s arrest of a 35-year old male out of Newark for criminal threats. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

5:15 AM: Officer Garcia initiated a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Jarvis Ave and Lido Blvd. While conducting the traffic investigation, Officer Garcia observed a firearm in plain view on the passenger seat. Additional officers arrived on scene and a high-risk stop ensued. The subject was detained and upon further investigation, the weapon was determined to be a replica firearm. The driver was released and opted for the replica firearm to be turned in for destruction.

11:07 AM: Officers responded to multiple reports of a Dodge Charger that had collided with several vehicles and fled the scene. Responding officers found the involved vehicle, a black Dodge Charger, with its engine still running, facing westbound in the eastbound lanes of the 5700 block of Thornton Ave. Officers had difficulty seeing into the vehicle, due to a tinted windshield and windows. Based on the totality of the circumstances, officers attempted to contact the driver by giving commands using a loudspeaker from a distance and providing several announcements to the driver.
After numerous attempts, officers partially broke a rear window and again gave several announcements calling for the driver to cooperate. Based on the suspect’s continued refusal, officers introduced pepperball rounds into the vehicle resulting in the suspect exiting the vehicle at which time officers were able to safely detain him. The sole occupant driver, a 20-year-old male residing in Oakland, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Resisting Arrest. As a precaution. he was transported to a local hospital and cleared prior to being booked at Santa Rita Jail on the above charges.
7:23 PM: Officer Torres initiated a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Edgewater Drive and Darvon Street. Officer Torres made contact and arrested a 67 year old male for an outstanding warrant. He was issued a citation and released on scene.
8:55 PM: Officer Riddles initiated a traffic enforcement stop in the 39000 block of Cedar Boulevard. Officer Riddles made contact and arrested a 37 year old male out of Hayward for possession of controlled substances. He was issued a citation and released on scene.

3:29 AM: Officer Rivas was conducting a security check on a vehicle in the area of Cherry Street and Thornton Avenue. Officer Rivas made contact and arrested a 25 year old male out of Newark for driving without a license and possession of controlled substances. The vehicle was subsequentially towed and the driver was issued a citation and released on scene.

7:07 AM: Officer Rivera initiated a traffic enforcement stop in the 35000 block of Newark Boulevard. Officer Rivera made contact and arrested a 24 year old male out of San Bruno. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

6:02 AM: Officers responded to a report of an attempted burglary to a business in progress in the 34000 block of Newark Boulevard. The subject(s) fled prior to officer arrival. There was no entry and no loss at this time.
12:07 PM: Officers responded to a report of a vandalism in progress in the 35000 block of Newark Blvd. Upon arrival, officers made contact and arrested a 56-year old male out of Hayward for vandalism. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
6:00 PM: Officer Sanchez investigated multiple thefts to vehicles in the 5000 block of Mowry. Loss was personal items. The investigation is still ongoing.

9:28 PM: Officers responded to a report of trespassing in the 7000 block of Mowry Avenue. Upon arrival, officers made contact and arrested a 19 -ear old male out of Hayward for being too inebriated to care for himself or others. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.

5:06 AM: Officers responded to a report of a possible catalytic converter theft in the 37000 block of Cedar Boulevard. A records check determined the suspect vehicle was stolen. Officers arrived on scene and initiated a high-risk stop. The suspect initially disregarded Officer’s commands but eventually exited the suspect vehicle. Officers made contact and arrested a 41-year old male out of Fremont for possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools and theft of personal property. He was booked at Santa Rita Jail.
