INCIDENT: 2022-24789 Credit Card Skimming

LOCATION OCCURRED: PNC Bank, 38 Princeton-Hightstown Rd.
OFFICER: Ptl. J. Chowanec #119
DETAILS: Ptl. Chowanec was detailed to PNC Bank after an ATM technician discovered a credit/debit card skimming device on the drive-thru ATM machine. The ATM technician last serviced the machine on August 10th. He returned on the date of this report due to customers experiencing card reader issues. That is when he found a credit card skimmer (used to steal the data from the credit/debit card) surreptitiously attached to the card reader. A second device was found hidden in the upper trim of the ATM. This device contained a camera, micro sd card, and batteries, and was used to record customers entering their PIN onto the keypad.

DETAILS: Ptl. Caulfield was detailed to Target for a shoplifter who was being detained by store Asset Protection. Investigation found that Gabriella Tuccillo had filled a shopping cart with $545.22 worth of merchandise that she attempted to push out of the store without paying. Tuccillo was charged with shoplifting and has a future date pending with Mercer County Superior Court.

DETAILS: Ptl. Zicha initiated a stop on a brown BMW sedan that was displaying an expired temporary registration. During the stop, Darius Solomon was found to be a fugitive and “Wanted” by both the Trenton Police Department and the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office. Solomon was processed at WWPD Headquarters and transported to the Trenton Police Department for their fugitive warrant.

DETAILS: Ptl. Caulfield responded to Best Buy for a shoplifting. Investigation found that three males entered the store and went directly to the Apple displays. Moments later they forcibly pulled and/or cut several iPhones and MacBook Pro laptops from their security tethers and left the store with over $15,000.00 worth of Apple electronics. The three males got into a white Buick sedan with Pennsylvania license plates and left the scene.

He was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Ptl. Connell was detailed to Lowe’s for a store employee who was being detained for internal theft. Investigation found that JoAnne Ambroise would make copies of customer receipts, and later use them to obtain store merchandise credit. Using the store credit, she purchased $807.24 worth of merchandise over a period of several weeks. Ambroise was also found to have a warrant for her arrest from Hamilton. Ambroise was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released with dates pending with Mercer County Superior Court and Hamilton Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Patrol Units responded to a shoplifting from Walgreens involving two suspects who had just left the store. Sgt. K. Loretucci and Ptl. Mahon located one of the suspects, Christian Chiasson, heading towards the Princeton Junction Train Station carrying a bag full of over the counter medication valued at $593.67. The other suspect was not located and got away with an unknown amount of merchandise concealed in his pockets. Chiasson was also found to have warrants for his arrest from North Brunswick and New Brunswick. He was processed at WWPD Headquarters and later turned to over to North Brunswick Police on their warrant.

DETAILS: Patrol and Traffic Units were detailed to a crash on U.S. Route 1 in the area of Meadow Rd. Investigation found that a red Honda SUV, driven by Rajesh Venkataraman, was traveling faster than the red Cadillac SUV that was in front of it in the center lane. The red Honda struck the rear of the red Cadillac while both vehicles were in motion causing heavy damage to both vehicles. Venkataraman was determined to be DWI and arrested. He was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Ptl. Buchanan was on patrol in the area of Alexander Rd. and Wallace Rd. when he observed a silver Hyundai sedan that was stopped and blocking the roadway. Upon further investigation, he found the driver of the Hyundai to be asleep behind the wheel. After some effort, he was able to wake the driver, Kyle Gerba, who was determined to be driving while intoxicated. Gerba was also in possession of numerous Xanax pills that were inside of a plastic bag. Gerba was processed at WWPD Headquarters and released pending a future date with Mercer County Superior Court.
