Sheriff’s Deputy Placed on Admin Leave After Weekend Arrest
Modesto, CA –
Over the weekend, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office was made aware Deputy Chad Lewis had been arrested for a domestic violence incident and was booked into the Placer County Jail.
“Upon learning of the arrest, Deputy Lewis was immediately placed on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation,” said Sheriff Jeff Dirkse.
“Roseville Police Department is handling the criminal investigation, and per policy, we will have no further statement regarding the internal investigation," the Sheriff went on to add.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office can confirm there is an active lawsuit in which Deputy Lewis is named as a defendant. The department will have no comment on the lawsuit due to the pending litigation.
