OSBI ARRESTS CORDELL MAN ON MULTIPLE CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CORDELL, Okla. (October 6, 2022) – Today, Special Agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), assisted by deputies from the Washita County Sheriffs Office and officers from the Cordell Police Department, served a search warrant in the 800 block of East 9th Street in Cordell. As a result of the search warrant, Carl Herlinger (8/19/1979) was arrested and faces multiple child pornography charges.
The case originated when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) forwarded a cyber tip they received from an Electronic Service Provider (ESP) to the OSBI. The OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit opened an investigation upon receiving the tip. Based on the investigation, Herlinger was arrested today, without incident, and booked into the Washita County Jail.
Herlinger is charged with the following:
- Possession of Child Pornography
- Violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crime Act.
