During the months of August and September 2022, detectives with the Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail (SED) began an investigation into Baltazar Martinez for having three felony warrants.  
 
On September 30, 2022, SED detectives located Martinez in his vehicle at the 700 block of C Street in Oxnard. Detectives initiated a vehicle stop on Martinez and he failed to comply with detectives by barricading in his vehicle. Members of the Oxnard Patrol Services, Oxnard Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) and the Sheriff’s Gang Unit arrived on scene to assist.  Martinez barricaded in his vehicle for approximately forty-five minutes before ultimately surrendering to detectives.
 
SED Detectives arrested Martinez for the three local felony warrants. Detectives conducted a search of Martinez’s vehicle pursuant to his arrest and located two pounds of methamphetamine in Martinez’s vehicle.  Martinez was additionally arrested for resisting arrest, possession for sales of a controlled substance, transportation for sales of a controlled substance and utilizing a false compartment in his vehicle for narcotics. Martinez was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail. Martinez remains in custody on $250,000.00 bail and is scheduled for court on Wednesday October 12, 2022.
 
The Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail is comprised of five plain clothes detectives who focus on efforts that negatively affect the quality of life of the law-abiding citizens of Camarillo. The goal of Camarillo SED is to reduce property and violent crime through investigations and direct enforcement.
