Over the last three weeks the Forest City Police have responded to three incidents of gunfire in the Seitz Drive / Dogwood Lane neighborhoods. Each of these incidents were reported to law enforcement by third party individuals. Additionally, no injuries were reported during any of the shootings. In total detectives have recovered approximately 60 (sixty) spent shell casings following the events.
 
The most recent incident occurred on Thursday, October 6, 2022. When officers and detectives arrived, they were able to begin processing the crime scene and because of those efforts several pieces of evidence were recovered. During the search of the crime scene one firearm, that matched the caliber of spent shell casings, and 4,000 dosage units of Fentanyl were seized.
 
At this point one person of interest has been taken into custody by Cherokee County, SC law enforcement. Additional arrests are expected as the investigation continues, and more evidence is collected.
